A Legacy of Hard Work and Hospitality

The story of L. George’s is as inspiring as its delicious menu. It all began in 1974 when George Lucaj immigrated to the United States from Montenegro at just 16 years old. Starting as a busboy in Detroit's Greektown, George worked tirelessly to learn the ins and outs of the restaurant business.

In 1979, he opened his first L. George’s location on W. McNichols in Detroit with his brothers Kola and Dave by his side. Today, the Canton location remains one of two restaurants still owned and operated by George and his family—a testament to their dedication to quality food and exceptional service.
