The Canton Corner

Canton TWP, MI Community

Canton, Michigan, is a beautiful and thriving community known for many things, including its commitment to environmental awareness. As part of this commitment, the Canton Division of Public Works is hosting the annual Hazardous Waste Round-Up on September 9th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is free to Canton residents and is designed to help our community dispose of hazardous waste safely and responsibly.

Every year, Canton residents face the challenge of how to properly dispose of hazardous waste materials such as batteries, electronics, and motor oil. These items can cause serious environmental harm if not disposed of properly. Fortunately, Canton’s annual Hazardous Waste Round-Up is here to help. This event provides an opportunity for residents to safely and legally dispose of these items, ensuring that our community stays clean and healthy.

Canton residents, brace yourselves for an incredible event! An opportunity is being unveiled for all to dispose of unwanted items in an environmentally conscious way. The event will be held at the Canton Division of Public Works Building, accepting a comprehensive list of materials at no cost. However, attendees are reminded to carry their ID for residency verification. The organizers are ecstatic to extend this service to the community and are anticipating the beneficial impact it will have on the environment. Patience may be required due to possible long queues, but the wait promises to yield worthwhile returns for such an excellent cause! Residents who miss the round-up can still dispose of hazardous materials at Canton Clean-Ups. These events are held on scheduled Saturdays throughout the year and offer limited hazardous waste disposal options, including motor oil, electronics, batteries, latex paint, and antifreeze. Residents are responsible for unloading their items and placing them in the dumpster provided. GFL employees will not be able to assist. Note that residents are limited to one trip per household.

The community's dedication to environmental responsibility is truly worthy of praise. Their recognition of the importance of proper hazardous waste disposal for the health of the region's residents is highly commendable. Through the organization of events such as the Hazardous Waste Round-Up and Canton Clean-Ups, they demonstrate their unwavering commitment to raising environmental awareness and striving for sustainability. These initiatives play a vital role in preserving the health and beauty of the community for future generations. The pride this community exhibits in its pro-environmental endeavors serves as an inspiration to all and sets an example that can be followed in individual efforts to promote a cleaner, greener world.

By properly disposing of hazardous waste, we are ensuring that our community stays clean, healthy, and sustainable for years to come. The annual Hazardous Waste Round-Up and Canton Clean-Up provide safe and legal means for residents to dispose of hazardous materials. We encourage all residents to take advantage of these opportunities and help us continue to promote environmental responsibility in our beautiful community.
