Canton Township is about to become home to an exciting new eatery offering a tantalizing menu of freshly made tacos, burritos, nachos, and more. Ruckus Taco Co., owned and operated by Jeremy Kalmus of Plymouth, is set to open in July in the former Olympus Coney Island in the shopping plaza at the southeast corner of Joy and Morton-Taylor roads. Kalmus founded Ruckus Taco after returning from culinary school in Charleston, South Carolina to work as an executive chef at several restaurants in the Metro Detroit area, and his dedication to creating a delicious and unique experience for diners is sure to make this opening something to be proud of.
Kalmus proudly explained that he began his business with merely $3,500 in his bank account and has achieved great success through word of mouth. He decided to take on this challenge as he wanted to become the master of his destiny and cooking has been his passion from day one. His latest venture, Ruckus Taco located at 43315 Joy Road, is a result of his catering business and food truck (a converted 1969 Airstream trailer) inside Corktown's Detroit Axe.

Creating an Inviting Atmosphere
Kara Kalmus and her husband, Kalmus, have put in a great deal of effort to create an inviting atmosphere at their newest Sweet Bites location in Canton. They have transformed the former Olympus Coney Island into a vibrant eatery featuring a fresh color palette, repurposed furniture from a friend's restaurant, and two pinball machines. Furthermore, a full kitchen renovation ensures that all plumbing and sinks are brand new.
The walls feature works by local artists, and a neon sign offers the perfect background for a selfie: "Feed me tacos and tell me I'm pretty." They are incredibly proud of their accomplishment and cannot wait to meet more of their neighbors when the restaurant opens next month.
Ruckus Taco Co. offers something unique within the Canton Township area and customers are sure to be pleased with their delicious menu offering a wide array of taco varieties.
